Description

Niacinamide, is the active component of vitamin B3, (also known as niacin or nicotinamide). It is such an overachieving skin care ingredient due to its many benefits.  Niacinamide helps the skin produce ceramides which dramatically enhances barrier function and hydration, It increases collagen production to help with the appearance of fine lines and pores, It inhibits excess sebum production, even out skin tone, and may help lighten discoloration and improve aging skin.

Manufacturers Suggested Usage: 1 – 6% add to water phase or cool down phase. Can also be added directly into a finished cream or cream base. Final pH of product should be around pH 6.

  • Niacinamide has been shown to benefit skin color, decrease melanin synthesis, suppresses hyper-pigmentation, and decrease inflammation and itching.
  • It helps regulate sebum production and control oiliness.
  • It has been shown to increase ceramide and free fatty acid levels in skin, prevent skin from losing water content, and stimulate microcirculation in the dermis
  • It also has a growing reputation for being able to address skin discolorations (often in tandem with other proven skin-lightening agents such as vitamin C and glucosamine) and to reduce acne.
