Description

Vitamin A is known to deliver a number of incredible benefits to the skin when used in the right quantities. Research has shown that exposure to enronmental factors and sunlight reduce our Vitamin A levels and this is one of the causes of unhealthy looking skin. This skin deficiency can be countered by the use of products with Vitamin A. Vitamin A is considered one of the most important anti-aging ingredient in skincare as it is the only molecule that can assist in reprogramming the cell, resulting in healthier looking and more radiant skin.

Vitamin A is an essential nutrient that supports skin, eye, and reproductive health, and immune function. There are two types of vitamin A: retinoids (preformed vitamin A) and carotenoids (proformed vitamin A). Skin is a retinoid-responsive organ, able to readily absorb vitamin A when applied topically.

Retinol stimulates production of new skin cells, without this process of re-production, skin can become overly dry and rough.

Vitamin A improves skin conditions like acne by normalising the oil production leaving skin less oily and more balanced.

Vitamin A also normalises the appearance of pigmentation by checking the activities of tyrosinase, an ensyme that plays a vital role in  the production of melanin.

Vitamin A assists in the promotion of healthy collagen and elastin by stimulating cells that produce collagen in the dermis, leaving skin looking firmer and more radiant. Vitamin A also speeds up healing, prevents breakouts, supports skin immune system and helps skin stay hydrated.

Vitamin A is widely used in products such as moisturisers, lotions, body butters, shampoos, conditioners, gels and scrubs. It is particularly good for anti-aging formulations.
