Used throughout history in Chinese culture and herbal health practices, the Tangerine fruit produces a fresh, zesty, citrusy-sweet smelling essential oil.

Aromatic Summary : Tangerine has a  fresh, zesty and citrus aroma. In comparison to Sweet Orange, Tangerine is not as sweet smelling as sweet orange.
Blends With: Basil, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Neroli, Nutmeg and Orange .

Tangerine Essential Oil, like other oils  of the citrus family, can be depended upon for its refreshing and rejuvenating characteristics. Tangerine Oil contains antioxidants and is commonly used for its stimulating and energizing effects.  Tangerine Essential Oil is commonly used in perfumes, toiletries and soaps because of its antifungal and antiseptic properties, making it a popular ingredient in skin care formulas.
It’s a great remedy against acne-causing bacteria keeping the skin clear of blemishes. Tangerine Oil also works for hair because of its antiseptic properties and helps treat dandruff, dry scalp and other scalp infections.
Essential oils like that of Tangerine that have high levels of the monoterpene Limonene are often known for their ability to have stimulating and enhancing effects on mood. The stimulating and mood-enhancing effects of Tangerine Oil can be experienced by using the oil aromatically – diffusing or inhaling the essential oil. In aromatherapy, Tangerine Oil works as a sedative by relieving anxiety, depression and nervousness. It also promotes healthy sleep. Tangerine Oil can also be used to inspire sensual moods, as it has potent aphrodisiac properties.
Cautions:Â This oil has phototoxic properties and exposure to the sun must be avoided after application to the skin. Due to their presence, please consult a physician prior to using this oil. Dilute well before use; May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.
