Description
Soy wax is a natural wax derived from soybeans, and is primarily used in candle making. After soy beans are harvested, they are cleaned, cracked, dehulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and then hydrogenated to where it is a solid at room temperature. Soy wax is made from natural, environmentally friendly, renewable resources which makes it a better alternative to paraffin wax; whereas paraffin wax is made from petroleum and is non-renewable.
Scented candles are traditionally made of paraffin wax, which is made from petroleum and can release harmful toxins into the air when burned or melted. Soy wax also burns slower than paraffin wax, meaning you get a candle that lasts longer. While all candles emit some black soot while burning, candles made from soy wax burns cleaner and results in less soot.
Soy wax is also an excellent fragrance carrier that does not require chemical amplifiers. The result is a well-balanced true to scent candle.
