Our Shikakai Powder is prepared from dried fruit pods of shikakai plants, the fruit pods are dried and then ground into a fine powder. Shikakai is referred to as “fruit for the hair.” It has a naturally mild pH, and it gently cleans the hair without stripping it of natural oils. Shikakai Powder can be used as a natural hair wash for sensitive scalps or to help control flakes. Shikakai Powder is said to support healthy hair growth and strong hair roots.

Shikakai powder is a great hair care and skin care product. It can soothe the scalp with its cooling antiseptic properties. It also maintain the optimum pH level of scalp.The anti-fungal properties of Shikakai nourishes the scalp and prevents itching and dryness. Shikakai powder also hydrates the skin and provides a natural glow to the skin.
Inspiration for your formulations: To support a healthy scalp and hair growth, combine 1 tablespoon each of Shikakai Powder, Amla Powder, Aritha Powder and Neem Powder and add to 1 cup of boiling water. Allow this to sit and infusion for about 15-20 minutes (You can sieve this mixture to get rid of the particles after infusion). Add 1 teaspoon of Liquid Castile Soap to the mixture for very oily hair. Once cooled, this mixture may be used to wash hair . Rinse well with warm water and apply some nourishing natural plant oils for more conditioning and moisture.
