Sesame oil has been in the limelight for its essential fatty acids, which not only help in maintaining the integrity of the tissues but also ensures moisturizing and restructuring of the skin. Its powerful antioxidants reverse signs of aging while bringing a nice glow. On the other hand, when combined with a few other essential oils, it strengthens the hair follicles and brings back a dark luster to the hair.

A goldish to dark yellow emollient plant oil it contains high amounts of nourishing and moisturizing fatty acids (about 38% of oleic and 48% of linoleic acid) and it repairs and regenerate dry skin. It is rapidly absorbed and gives the skin a soft and gentle feel.

Sesame seed oil has been used for thousands of years, it produces a flavorful cooking oil that naturally resists rancidity.  There is the toasted version, used to finish a stir-fry, and a lighter oil made from the raw seeds which is popular in South India, where it’s known as gingelly, and also at high-end tempura restaurants in Japan. Sesame seeds contain about 44 to 60 percent oil, which can be extracted by expeller-pressing or chemical solvents. When expeller-pressed at cooler temperatures, oil is considered cold-pressed—this is the highest quality of sesame oil

Aromatic Description:  Sesame seed oil has a faint nutty odour typical of cold pressed sesame seed oil extracted from raw seeds.

Consistency: Sesame Carrier Oil is slightly thicker than typical carrier oils. The oil might become cloudy at lower temperatures. We recommend placing the bottle in a hot water bath until the oil becomes clear.

Absorption: Absorbs fast into the skin leaving a slight sheen.

Sesame Carrier Oil is popular in cosmetics as a natural moisturizer and a good choice for massage therapists and aromatherapists alike. Sesame oil is loaded with amino acids, vitamin E, essential minerals, lecithin, and proteins. Besides its use in cooking and nourishing the skin, its rich chemical structure helps in relieving various conditions like eczema, rheumatism, psoriasis, and arthritis.

Sesame oil is stable and can be best used for dry, damaged, or lifeless skin. It is a light yellow to dark golden oil with a nutty and yet sweet smell. Due to its rich moisturizing properties, it is extensively used in cosmetics and various beauty treatments.

However, it is a little heavy when compared to other carrier oils. Hence, it is often combined with rosehip seed oil or evening primrose oil.

It is an excellent emollient, and if used in dilution with other carrier oils, is a popular massage and aromatherapy carrier oil. It will not stain sheets.

On the Skin, It be used directly as an effective and gentle cleanser or make-up remover. Or, can be mixed with about 3 drops of lavender essential oil and used as a night serum. Leave it overnight and wash off in the morning. Doing this regularly will leave your skin fresh and glowy.

On Hair, Due to its darkening and moisturizing properties, it can be great when applied to the hair. Based on your hair length, you can combine 3 tablespoons of sesame oil with 2 drops of rosemary essential oil and black seed oil each. Apply the mixture and leave it for 4 hours before shampooing.

Storage: It is recommended that cold-pressed carrier oils be kept in a cool dark place to maintain freshness and achieve maximum shelf life. If refrigerated, bring to room temperature before using.
