Sesame oil is one of the earliest known vegetable oils. Sesame seed oil has been used for thousands of years, it produces a flavorful cooking oil that naturally resists rancidity.  There is the toasted version, used to finish a stir-fry, and a lighter oil made from the raw seeds which is popular in South India, where it’s known as gingelly, and also at high-end tempura restaurants in Japan. Sesame seeds contain about 44 to 60 percent oil, which can be extracted by expeller-pressing or chemical solvents. When expeller-pressed at cooler temperatures, oil is considered cold-pressed—this is the highest quality of sesame oil

Sesame oil is stable and can be best used for dry, damaged, or lifeless skin. It is a clear or light yellow oil with a nutty and yet sweet smell. However, it is a little heavy when compared to other carrier oils. Hence, it is best to combine with rosehip seed oil or evening primrose oil.
