Description
Love to work with honey and all its superfood qualities, but don’t want all the sticky mess?
Now you can – meet Quaternized Honey also known as Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey (aka Honeyquat 50) an amazing conditioning agent derived from natural honey that provides many of those same sweet honey benefits to both hair and body. It is an intensely hydrating humectant, and a nourishing antioxidant, It also revitalizes the skin and scalp as well as rebalances without the sticky mess associated with honey!
Our Honeyquat is petro and paraben free, It is ultra moisturizing to both the hair and the skin and far more moisturizing than regular honey. With its low molecular weight, the penetration capability is exceptional, allowing it to penetrate the hair and offer long term moisturizing benefits, shine, and smoothness while it softens skin and scalp with true moisturisation.
Our Honeyquat is easy to use and will impart smoothness, substantivity and thickening to your emulsions and cleansing systems. Unlike most conditioning agents, Our Honeyquat will not reduce the foam in anionic / non-ionic surfactants.
Studies show that skin moisturization with quaternized honey is twice that of glycerin. This water soluble ingredient provides unique moisturizing, softening and smoothing benefits.
In hair care, damaged hair tend to be negatively charged, so the addition of positively charged cationic ingredients are important because they help bond to those negatively charged damaged areas of the hair, for deeper conditioning and repair. Honeyquat is one of the easiest ways to add the conditioning, and repair, of cationics as well as, moisture and smoothness to hair.
Honeyquat is a cationic (positively charged) quaternary polymer conditioning agent, which means it is attracted to the negatively charged hair strands (or neutral skin), and will absorb and cling on to the surface, and resist being easily rinsed off.
This action gives the feel of enduring moisturization and deep conditioning, leaving hair with a sleek, glossy shine and skin a dewy glow. Lubricity will also be boosted and static control increased, which will help reduce friction and pull during wet comb-outs, and frizzy fly-aways from dry brushing. Honeyquat will add a smooth and luxuriously thick feel to formula emulsions, while delivering long lasting, deep hydration to skin and body care products.

Common Uses/ Benefits
Optimum hydration levels are essential for achieving radiant, youthful and healthy looking skin. Unfortunately, harsh environment conditions and a fast paced modern lifestyle depletes the much needed moisture from our skin. For this reason, adding strong moisturizers to cosmetic applications is no longer a luxury, is a necessity. Quaternized honey is ideal for use in leave-on as well as rinse-off skin and hair care applications where distinctive marketing, effectiveness, high-end appeal, and state of the art ingredients is required.
Excellent for use as a cationic conditioning agent to create moisturizing hair conditioners, thickeners, detanglers, anti-static and other hair care treatments, especially leave-in conditioners and hair masks, due to the extreme humectant (moisture booster and binder) properties provided. Also effective for use in other body and skin care applications, such as lotions and creams that are looking to impart long lasting, intense moisturization that resists being rinsed off. Though not appropriate for anhydrous formulations, such as lotion/body bars, it is well suited for water based formulas, and anionic and non-ionic surfactant systems, because lather/foam will not be reduced as typically happens with traditional conditioning agents.
