Potassium Cocoate is a naturally derived and fully biodegradable surfactant used in personal care products where natural cleansing with a squeaky-clean skin feel is needed.
Potassium Cocoate is a pure soap derived from coconut oil. It is made from renewable resources, and is preservative free, it’s an excellent choice for formulators who want natural cleansing formulations and cleaning products.
Potassium Cocoate is a good substitute for Coco Betaine and other harsh surfactants, and a wonderful choice for luxury soaps. It is derived from whole coconut oil, as a result it contains natural glycerine which may help avoid over drying the skin.
Potassium Cocoate is easy to work with, Just dilute, as required for your product performance needs, with water or some other water based ingredient. Like all true soap this will create a squeaky-clean feel on the skin.
It combines very well with polyglucose and lactylate blends of surfactant when you want to avoid that squeaky clean feel.
Even in small quantities, Potassium Cocoate offers a smooth, conditioned, feel on the skin.

Manufacturers suggested Usage : 4 to 40% Add to oil or surfactant phase, adjust viscosity with sodium chloride. (though this surfactant is water soluble, it is best to incorporate into oil / surfactant phase to avoid clumping and improve processing / compounding, doing this also reduces solubility challenges and creates a smoother final product). Final formulation pH of 8.0 – 9.0 for clear products . Do not combine with cationic ingredients for optimal stability. combine with amphoteric surfactants to alleviate the “squeaky clean” feeling on skin.

Potassium Cocoate is used in cosmetic production of bath gel, shower gels, shampoos and conditioners. It is great for liquid soaps for sensitive skin cleansers as well as for shaving foams, bubble baths, cleansers, bath oils, wipes and make-up.
