Description
Polysorbate 80 is used as an emulsifier in combination with a variety of other hydrophobic emulsifiers to cover a wide range of oil in water, and water in oil emulsion systems. On its own, it is an excellent solubilizer of essential oils, wetting agent, viscosity modifier, stabilizer and dispersing agent just like polysorbate 20.
Use it in the creation of linen and room sprays, body sprays and other products where oils need to be solubilized in water.
INCI: Polysorbate 80
Appearance: Viscous light amber liquid, odorless
Manufacturers suggested Usage : 1-20% in formulations.
With essential oils, the rule of thumb is one part of essential oils to 4-8parts solubilisers . We have found that 8 parts works fine with our polysorbate 80, however, as always, kindly test all formulations for compatibility.
Solubility: Soluble in water, alcohols, oils
Common Uses/ Benefits
Used in formulating Body washes, hair shampoos, hair loss treatments, lotions, creams, bath oils, solubilizates.
