Phloretin is a powerful antioxidant extract from green apples. Phloretin helps to diminish the appearance of hyperpigmentation and improves skin tone, ultimately, the result is a brighter looking complexion. It is a potent antioxidant and skin lightener comparable to arbutin.  A clinical study found that the inhibition rate of 0.3% Phloretin on tyrosinase is as high as 98%. Phloretin is a  flavonoid responsible in part for the antioxidant activity of apples.
