Description

Illipe nut butter  is an exotic butter extracted from the fallen nuts of the of the magnificent shorea stenoptera tree, native to Malaysia, and has been used for centuries to moisturize and protect the skin and hair. The nuts are collected from the forest floor, dried, shelled and then pressed to extract the raw butter inside, the resulting butter is highly emollient. Illipe Nut Butter has a similar chemical makeup as Cocoa Butter, but it is harder and more resistant to heat. Given its higher melting point, it is one of the hardest known butters. These characteristics make this butter an ideal component in lip balms, bar soaps, deodorants, body balms, lotion sticks and many more other products that require a high melting point.  Due to its density, it is an excellent choice to add to cold process soap recipes as it will help produce a firm bar which will last longer in the shower. Other applications are lotion sticks, lip balms and body butters – as it will give your finished product a nice thick or hard consistency when used at the proper ratio with other liquid oils.

Illipe butter is highly nutrient-dense butter with many benefits for your skin and hair, it is believed to be the most nourishing and healing of all butters.

It has high amounts of symmetric triglycerides and displays high melting characteristics.  It can help stabilize emulsions due to its uniform triglyceride composition, and is a suitable replacement for many synthetic emolliency enhancers. It’s softening effect and spreadability on the skin make it a great ingredient for improving the texture of a formula, and it is wonderful for supporting and smoothing dry as well as aging skin.

Illipe nut butter is rich in oleic, palmitic, stearic, and linoleic fatty acids, as well as vitamins A and E. All of these acids can help promote good health, beautiful skin, and even hair. While thick at room temperature, illipe nut butter melts on contact with the skin.

INCI: Shorea stenoptera Butter

Physical Appearance:White to pale yellow waxy butter

Manufacturers Recommended Usage: 2 – 100% . Use in lip balms, bar soaps, deodorants, body balms, lotion sticks, lotions, creams, color cosmetics, hair masks, masks, hair styling products, balms, body scrubs and polishes.

When adding butters to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm in a heat-proof  jar on low heat or in a bain marie (To preserve its nutritive properties) before incorporating into the final product. As with most raw materials, results may vary, we strongly recommend small batch testing prior to any commercial manufacturing.

Common Uses/Benefits

Ilipe butter is great for eczema or for very dry skin, it is an amazing natural moisturizer that will leave your skin soft, smooth, supple, and less dull. Illipe nut butter also reinforces the skin’s protective barrier; it protects the skin against the elements, helping to retain moisture, inhibiting future damage, and preventing the skin from drying out. All of this is especially important for people with eczema or dermatitis, since their skin is often extremely dry and sensitive, and the skin’s barrier is often damaged and insufficient. Illipe nut butter also helps in treating these issues, soothing the skin and helping to reduce the uncomfortable tightness, redness, and/or itchiness that occur as a result.

Not only is illipe nut butter great for your skin, but it also works wonders for your hair by conditioning dry strands and locking in moisture, ultimately keeping your hair and scalp healthy. What’s even better, illipe nut butter helps with hair loss prevention, taming frizzy hair, smoothing split ends, and regenerating damaged lifeless hair by improving the hair’s elasticity by making it more manageable and adding shine.

Plant Butter Texture: Plant butters may partially or fully melt if they are exposed to warmer temperatures. This is sometimes an issue for natural butters that are shipped through warmer areas. Crystallization or graininess occurs when a vegetable butter melts, either intentionally or accidentally during warm conditions, and then cools back down too slowly. This is a natural occurrence that does not impact the quality or usability of the butter.

Recommended Storage: Body butters are ideally stored in a refrigerator to maintain its texture. It will become soft in warmer temperatures. Store in air tight containers; in a cool dry area; away from direct sunlight.

Shelf Life: Typical shelf life is about 3yrs when stored properly. store in cool temperatures (below 25 °C) away from light and moisture in an air-tight container.
