Collagen is a key protein produced in the body, it is found primarily in the skin, bones, cartilage, tendons, and teeth. It plays a critical role in the structure and function of the body’s cells and tissues  and promotes wound healing and bone repair. As we age, collagen production declines, and collagen supplements has been traditionally used as a supplement to support and  restore collagen that has been depleted. Collagen supplements is known to be useful for numerous wellness gains,  from glowing skin, and glossy hair to stronger muscles and flexible joints.

Hydrolysed collagen is simply collagen that has been broken down into more digestible peptides that is easier to absorb by the body. Hydrolyzed collagen (also know as collagen hydrolysate)  is created through a process called hydrolysis, where water molecules rupture the chemical bonds. Collagen is a complex protein made of three chains of amino acids, whereas hydrolyzed collagen is collagen that is broken down into small protein chains, called collagen peptides.

Collagen makes up around 70 to 75% of our skin, the largest organ in the body. As we age, collagen in the skin’s inner layer can become depleted, leading to dryness, loss of elasticity, and lines and wrinkles.

Studies have shown that collagen is effective in slowing down signs of skin aging, improving skin elasticity, hydration levels, and in promoting youthful texture. Collagen also provide many of the amino acids and nutrients needed for hair growth. Hydrolysed collagen is popularly used in hair conditioning products, nail conditioning products , humectants, and anti-agying and skin conditioning products.
