Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate derived from licorice root extract, is a popular skincare and cosmetic ingredient known for its conditioning and anti-inflammatory properties.  It is the main anti-inflammatory component in the licorice root plant, monoammonium glycyrrhizinate.

Dipotassium glycyrrhizate is the dipotassium salt of glycyrrhizic acid, also known as glycyrrhizin, a key component in licorice root extract.  Licorice is the root of the Glycyrrhiza glabra plant, native to southern Europe and parts of Asia, such as India.

It’s used in skincare and cosmetic formulations mainly for its soothing,  dark spot fading, and anti-inflammatory properties.  It is also known to be sebum regulating so it’s a good ingredient for oily and acne skin products.
