The process of making Deionized water Involves passing water through ion-exchange beads that remove ions from the water and replace them with hydrogen and hydroxyl ions. This process creates water that is free of salts and has very low conductivity.
Deionized water is not safe to drink. Deionized water is often used in industrial settings for the production of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and electronics.
