Our virgin Cupuaçu butter is obtained from the seeds of the fruits of the cupuaçu tree growing wild in the Brazilian Amazonia. Cupuacu belongs to the same family as cocoa and it is one of the superfruits of the Amazonian rainforest. The butter is cold pressed from the fruit seeds and are considered food, medicine and cosmetic ingredient among the inhabitants.
Cupuaçu butter is prized for its rich content of phytosterols which is of immense benefits to dry, damaged skin, polyphenols, which combats free radicals in tissues. Cupuacu butter fatty acid content helps to protect and moisturize.
It’s a butter that performs like the actives, delivering true healing, and restructuring benefits, to the skin as it improves the skin’s moisture barrier and offers true hydration for improved elasticity and anti-inflammatory activity.
Often compared in functionally with Lanolin, Cupuacu Butter is a good, plant, alternative to lanolin, offering the capacity to attract 240% more water, allowing it to function much more effectively as a skin hydrator and plumper.
Though it’s not recognized as an SPF, Cupuacu Butter is well known for it’s ability to absorb damaging UVA / UVB rays for natural sun protection.

Manufacturers Recommended Usage: 2 – 100% . Use in lotions, creams, color cosmetics, hair masks, masks, hair styling products, balms, body scrubs and polishes, soaps, lip balms.
When adding butters to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm in a heat-proof jar on low heat or in a bain marie (To preserve its nutritive properties) before incorporating into the final product. As with most raw materials, results may vary, we strongly recommend small batch testing prior to any commercial manufacturing.

Recommended Storage: Body butters are ideally stored in a refrigerator to maintain its texture. It will become soft in warmer temperatures. Store in air tight containers; in a cool dry area; away from direct sunlight.
Shelf Life: Typical shelf life is about 2.5yrs when stored properly. store in cool temperatures (below 25 °C) away from light and moisture in an air-tight container.
