It is non-oily with very low viscosity and an excellent alternative to silicones  while maintaining the light silky skin feel of products.

It is considered a true vegetable alterna­tive for light petrochemical based emollients like IPM, mineral oils or silicones. It is very popular as a natural alternative to light silicones and mineral oils. It has a similar skin sensation like Cyclomethicone or light Dimethicone types.

It spreads quickly upon application leaving a soft, powdery after-feel on the skin similar to dry silicones. It offers long-term moisturization and leaves an invisible, ultra-silky film on the skin. Coco Caprylate/Caprate is an excellent choice for a wide range of personal care and cosmetic applications

It also offers good solubilizing and dispersing properties for powder, UV filters, etc, to enhance their solubility. Coco caprylate/caprate is great for formulation of light lotions, it improves spreadability and glide and leaves a non-greasy, soft after touch.  Coco-Caprylate/Caprate is one of the fastest spreading natural emollients. It decreases heavy and greasy skin feel of slow spreading oils.
