Description
Coco Betaine also known as cocamidopropyl betaine is an excellent widely used mild amphoteric surfactant derived from coconut oil. It offers outstanding foam, foam stabilization and viscosity building properties. It is used as a foam booster, viscosity builder, thickening agent, humectant and antistatic agent in surfactant formulations in personal care, cosmetic products, and household cleaners.
Cocamidopropyl betaine is mild yet offers excellent foam ability, It is highly water soluble, biodegradable and viscosity-building and foam boosting. It is derived from renewable, natural resources.
Country Of Origin: USA
INCI: Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Appearance: Clear to pale yellow viscous liquid
Manufacturers suggested Usage : 2 to 40%, depending on desired foaming effect.
Solubility: Soluble in water
PH: 4-6 in a 5% aqueous solution.
Active Surfactant Matter ( ASM): 30%
Polarity: Amphoteric
Common Uses/ Benefits
Cocamidopropyl betaine produces excellent wetting, and gives good lather and foam for shampoos, liquid hand soaps, cleansing creams and lotions, shower gels, pet shampoos, and more!
It is compatible with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. It is easy to use, and has many benefits for the formulator. Using Cocamidopropyl Betaine along with other surfactants will help improve the foam performance, reduce the irritation of anionic surfactants, increasing cleansing capability of non-ionic surfactants and bridge the gap and allow for the use of a combination of cationics and non-ionics for superior cleansing formulations.
- Useful as a primary or secondary co-surfactant compatible with anionic, nonionic, cationic surfactants.
- Good cleanser & foam booster, viscosity enhancer, excellent conditioning & antistatic agent, moderate emulsifier.
- Good cleansing and foaming properties.
- Slight viscosity enhancer
- Excellent conditioning and antistatic agent
- Moderate emulsifying properties
Uses
- Shampoos
- Bubble Baths
- Body Washes
- Facial Cleansers
- Shower Gels
- Make-Up Removers
- Dermatological Liquid Soaps
Storage: Tightly sealed , store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Avoid overheating or freezing. This material is reactive to temperature changes, The colder it gets the thicker the product will get, this is expected, it does not effect performance. Allow to come to room temperature and stir well to homogenize prior to use.
CAUTION: As with all surfactant, employ adequate measures to avoid breathing in vapors during processing. Avoid getting product into eyes when working with pure surfactant. Wash hands after handling.
