Cinnamon was mentioned in the old Testament as an ingredient in the holy anointing oil. This ancient spice has been used for it’s therapeutic benefits for thousands of years, it comes from the inner bark of a tropical, evergreen species of the Laurel family. It is highly concentrated with antioxidants.
Common Uses/Benefits
Cinnamon is used as flavouring for foods and has also found its way into oral hygiene products and cosmetics. It has a fragrant, spicy, intensely warming and slightly sweet flavour. Cinnamon barks can be used as a natural decoration in candle making. It can be used in many potpourri formulations. A good cleansing herb, it also has powerful antiseptic properties, and its sensual aroma has been proven to have an aphrodisiac effect.
