Candelilla Wax is a 100% natural, vegetable derived wax obtained from the plant of the Candelilla plant in northeastern Mexico. Candelilla Wax is extracted from the leaves and stems of the Candelilla shrub Euphorbia antisyphilitica by boiling it, then skimming off the resultant wax. Despite being a hard brittle wax (compared to beeswax), candelilla is a softer alternative to carnauba wax.

Our Manufacturer is the world’s largest refiner of crude Candelilla Wax and produces a wax which conforms to the established USP/NF Monograph Grade (The N.F. refers to National Formulary, meaning the material meets the specifications in the NF monograph).

It is collected from sustainable sources, Vegan Compliant and has a higher melting point than beeswax.

This vegan wax can be used for  a wide variety of formulations in personal-care, cosmetic, food manufacturing, and industrial applications. It is known for its glossy finish on goods, ability to thicken and harden formulations, improve the end consistency of a product, and act as a binding agent. Vegan alternatives are preferred by many as brands take advantage of the growing trend among consumers to choose plant-based products over animal derived.

Common Uses/Benefits

Candelilla Wax is commonly found in lotion bars, lipsticks, balms, mascaras, pomades and also used as thickener for anhydrous systems. Candelilla Wax can be a Vegan alternative to Beeswax. Can be used in soap making in the same way as beeswax and also in the manufacture of Candles, Lip Gloss, and Lip Balms, where it helps to improve the hardness and gloss of the finished product.
