BTMS- 50 is an incredibly efficient self-emulsifying wax as well as a quaternary conditioner, effective for both hair and skin. This white pellet, derived from natural Colza Oil, provides elegant cationic emulsions that tend to resist wash off, leaving a soft, powdery feel on the skin and imparting excellent detangling properties to hair conditioners.

BTMS-50 is a tremendously effective detangler for hair, yet is safe and gentle enough for leave-on skin care. It produces elegant cationic emulsions that are exceptionally mild and substantive to hair and skin. These emulsions leave hair tangle-free and feeling silky smooth and provide skin with a soft, powdery, and persistent after-feel.

BTMS is the emulsifier of choice when you want soft elegant creams and lotions. Emulsions made using BTMS will never be stiff unless you formulate specifically for that attribute, they will be thick but with fluid motion.

BTMS-50 in hair care, offer improved wet comb and leave hair with noticeable body and spring. Exceptional mildness makes this agent suitable for leave-in conditioners as well as bath, and body, formulations.

 BTMS-50 is also an excellent suspending agent, where it provides excellent viscosity building, making the use of auxiliary thickeners unnecessary in your formulations.

A unique property of BTMS-50 is its ability to emulsify high levels (up to 50%) of silicone. Unlike BTMS-25,  which has 25% behentrimonium methosulfate.  BTMS-50 has 50% behentrimonium methosulfate, which means products made with BTMS-50 have more active conditioning ingredient and less fatty alcohol to make up the difference. BTMS-25 has cetearyl alcohol, which feels slightly waxier than cetyl alcohol, and doesn’t contain a humectant.
A conditioner made with BTMS-50 at the same amount will have more conditioning agent and less fatty alcohol.
