Manufacturer Suggested Usage: 0.1 – 5%.  (safe for use up to 100% direct use on the skin, however, it is advisable to perform a patch test first to ensure there’s no irritation especially for sensitive skin types). Add to the oil or the cool down phase of your formulation (avoid heating above 75C). May sediment on standing, shake well before use.

Bakuchiol is a phenolic compound.  Therefore, presence of iron or copper ions must be avoided to eliminate coloration due to the interaction with these metal ions.  Addition of a small amount of chelating agent (0.1% disodium EDTA or Sodium Phytate or others) resolves this problem. The finished product, if it is not anhydrous, must be acidic, preferably having pH below 6.5. Use of  penetration enhancers like  DMI can help to boost efficacy. We recommend that finished product be stored in opaque and airless packaging to maintain product integrity and stability over time.
