Our 1,3 – Propanediol is 100% natural and ultra pure emollient from sustainable and renewable process  with no petroleum products or preservatives (It is made from a natural glycol from corn).

It is a powerful hydrator yet sustainable, and renewable. You can feel good about using as high as 70% with no irritation, in all of your body care products.  It is EcoCert and NPA (National product Association) approved, it is non GMO verified, through current independent testing, and contains no petros or Preservatives.

The major cause of unhealthy skin and aging skin is the breakdown of the skin’s natural moisture barrier, and efficacious  moisturizers boost the skin’s hydration and improvement of the moisture barrier to slow water loss in the skin. By adding 1,3 Propanediol to your formulations you’ll be adding true moisturizing benefits to the skin. Just adding oils and butters to formulations  function as emollients, not moisturizers, they lock in moisture but they don’t deliver hydration to the skin. 1,3 Propanediol is the perfect natural solution to this challenge of creating an effective moisturizer. 

Propanediol is commonly incorporated in a wide array of cosmetic formulations to improve aesthetics and skin feel of products, used in clear shampoo formulations, it would results in very low cloud points, excellent stability, improved foaming, and require less salt to adjust the viscosity as compared to other glycols.

1,3 Propanediol is also a good solution to solubilizing extracts and actives that are difficult to incorporate due to their insolvency. It is not quite as powerful as its petroleum counterparts for dissolution,  however, it does come quite close and is worth it if your goal is to have a fully natural product.
